How do shower curtain track gliders work?
A glider runs inside or along the shower rail and supports the curtain through a hanging hook. Some designs use an integrated glider-and-hook unit, while others have separate components. These fittings are not universally interchangeable.
Croydex Module 4 and Profile 400/800 compatibility
Our compatible-style glider listing is designed around selected Croydex GP98900-style runners associated with Module 4 and Profile 400/800 rails. These names help identify potential compatibility, but rail profiles may vary. Always compare the actual runner shape.
Checklist before choosing a replacement
- Take a clear photograph of an undamaged glider, including the portion that enters the rail.
- Check whether the hook is permanently attached to the glider or a separate component.
- Compare the top profile, lower hook, width and height with the product photographs.
- Check the number of runners needed, including any spares you wish to keep.
- Confirm that the curtain rail has a safe service opening if replacement requires removing an end stop.

Fitting replacement hooks and gliders
- Move the curtain aside and support it while working.
- Follow your rail manufacturer's instructions for accessing the track or an end service opening.
- Remove damaged fittings and check the rail for obstructions or damage.
- Insert only gliders with a matching profile. Do not force them into the rail.
- Rehang the curtain and confirm smooth, secure movement.
